Embrace the Cold

For better or worse steelhead alley is where I learned to fly fish. Of course this was done with a bobber and a bit of yarn on a hook... But i was fly fishing! Living out of an old Jeep Cherokee, chasing the next wave of chromers, and hiking endless miles of shale.
Not much has changed!
This week gave us the first considerable snow fall which now puts us in prime steelhead season! Embrace the cold with more layers than your grandmas bean dip. The snow run off should produce some good green color and the hunters are turning orange. Its my favorite time to go mup air.
Looks for flows to be on the drop and steelies to be on the hop.
