Wild Brown Trout Little J Fly Fishing

We got bugs!

Olives have showed up in central PA in decent numbers! Water levels have receded to stable flows. Fishing is great! Remember, approved trout waters are closed until opening day of trout. So look for special regulation streams to fish. Suckers are also spawning, this is one of my favorite times to catch big fish. Look near the tail out of pools in the faster water, this is where the suckers will be spawning. The trout will line up behind them and eat their eggs. Can be crazy good fishing. I have been fishing the prototype Orvis H3 10’6 3wt. Most of the fish lately are still in the slower to moderate speed water, but they are moving to get the fly more often now. I have been tight line nymphing and some dry dropper. Grannoms are next on the menu, my prediction is April 18th! Get out and fish!
